History of Telephones
The telephone is a communication tool that helps to converse across a distance. Telephone was invented in 1870 by Alexander Graham Bell in Boston, Massachusetts. The telephone works through transmission of voice and electric signals. The early models of telephones were able to transmit signals but there was no voice clarity as such. The basic designing of a telephone equipment consisted of a bell and a dialer. The bell informed the user of the incoming calls and dialer helped in making outgoing calls. There was a continuous innovation in the designing of the telephone to improve the voice quality and style of phone equipment.

Landline Telephones: Landline telephone handsets use connection oriented approach for transmitting signals. They establish a dedicated end to end connection between the transmitter and the receiver through a physical medium like a metal wire or fiber optics. This is the most cost effective means of communication available today and is widely used as it provides a reliable and secure mode of communication.
